    Article Review 4

Horn Article Review #4  Originally, I started looking into PBL in another class because the idea I have for my Health II redesign would involve turning the class into a series of problem-based units. I’m still learning more about PBL and the design layout of a PBL course, but I like the idea of allowing students to focus their learning on topics that are interested in within the unit topic. I want to still be able to integrate the necessary content for Health II, but it would still require me to semi throw away the current curriculum document. I stumbled upon this article and was intrigued by it because it…

    Not-So-Final-Project

Creating a Thing For my final project, I decided to create an introductory lesson about Internet Safety for my Health II students. My students are 11th and 12th grade high schoolers. After taking this class I learned a lot about being online and the importance of teaching students how to safely and productively be online through digital citizenship. The eight elements that I will be developing each of my lessons on for the entire Digital Citizenship Unit are as follows: Internet Safety, Privacy and Security, Relationships and Communication, Cyberbullying and Digital Drama Digital Footprints and Reputation, Self-Image and Identity, Information Literacy, Creative Credit, and Copyright. These eight elements came from…

    Work Together

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1poFxVygC0jnz1N2VqFqnmRQGrdi3kCEtxeqE2lLt7RI/edit?ts=5b5f283f#slide=id.p I worked with Tracy and Robert to create a mini powerpoint about the Holocaust! Check it out at the above link! I have used google docs before, but I struggled using google slides or the presentation mode of it! I couldn’t figure out how to format and edit the Google presentation in the same way that I normally would so I was quite frustrated with the program. Tracy and Robert added awesome input and I was really excited about how the entire powerpoint was pulled together. Summer and scheduling is always the hardest part of summer, but we all found the time and managed to create the powerpoint presentation together!…

    Grok and Korg

For my Grok and Korg I decided to focus on Digital Literacy. I was really interested to see what my fellow classmates had to say about the subject. Some quotes that from my classmates that really stuck with me: From Ben, ” Like digital citizenship, digital literacy is an umbrella statement that refers to an individuals ability to communicate and express their ideas on the internet through a variety of locations from many devices.” From Tracy, “This means that digital literacy means different things in different spheres of life, in different professions, and at different levels of technology. Digital skills are the “how to,” “what,” and “where.” Digital literacy is being…

    Get Productive

Adobe Spark! It all started when I decided to create an assignment for the Wing It (Engagement Edition). I was looking at what my classmates were using to complete assignments. One of the websites was Adobe Sparks. For another assignment for this class,  I used this website to create a video. I thought this website was really easy to use and I like how I can apply its use for when I need to lecture to my class or for class projects! I am excited to see what else I can create as I continue to use Adobe Spark to create videos!
